Marko Simmonds (Past)

Marko Simmonds has been the most recent musical director of the Nova Scotia Mass Choir. He is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA. He is a two-time ECMA Nominee, a two-time Nova Scotia Music Awards nominee and the winner of the Rising Star Award from the African Nova Scotian Music Association (ANSMA).

Marko’s performances have been enjoyed throughout Canada, the United States and the Bahamas. He has performed for historical figures and government officials such as Dr. Rosa Parks and Mrs. Della Reese, as well as Canadian Premiers, Prime Ministers and Lieutenant Governors. Marko is also known for his work as Music Arranger/Producer of Pathways To Freedom, a youth development program founded by Dr. Rosa Parks and Jeri Brown: The Spirit Comes Through, which aired on BRAVO/Canada on August 6, 2005.
