We are thrilled to announce the Nova Scotia Mass Choir is nominated for the Music Nova Scotia for ‘Event of the Year’ for our Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute Concert – The Dream Continues held at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in January 2018.

We are also thrilled to announce our Director, Owen Lee is also a nominee in the category of ‘Industry Professional of the Year’.

The Nova Scotia Mass Choir, recognized by the African Nova Scotian Music Association and two-time ECMA Award winning multicultural gospel choir is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.  Through both its music and its very composition, the choir actively spreads its message of racial harmony.

Highlights of the choir’s years together include:

  • In 2017, the Nova Scotia Mass Choir won the African Nova Scotian Music Association’s Artist/Group of the Year Award.
  • The African Nova Scotian Music Association recognized the Choir for Best Live Performance (1998) and Best Gospel (1999)
  • East Coast Music Awards for Blues/Gospel Group of the Year (1997) and Gospel Group of the Year (2000)
  • Two seasons on national television in a thirteen-part series “Hallelujah” on CBC and Vision TV (1996-1997)
  • Performance at the Southern Christian Leadership Convention in Dallas, Texas in 1995

The Nova Scotia Mass Choir has produced three CDs – He Never Failed Me Yet, Heaven, and most recently, in 2016, Immanuel.

The Nova Scotia Mass Choir is currently under the musical direction of Owen “O’Sound” Lee.
